This article was sort of intended to provide that bit of outline while also positing questions regarding why metformin would induce Lac-Phe and why would we produce Lac-Phe during intense exercise. It's asking the question of why that tends to get missed for the what, so research such as this may explain how metformin produces its weight-loss effect but it doesn't answer if this may be a good thing or if there may be issues down the line.
