Thanks Igor! I hope people don't see this as a cry for help. It's more that I want people to understand why I may not be covering COVID as much as other topics. Maybe that should have come across a bit better...

Right on! To paraphrase the late great John Prine's chorus in Spanish Pipedream:

Blow up the smart phone

Throw away the internet

Move to the country

Build us a home

Plant a little garden

Eat a lot of peaches

try find peace then

On our own

Well I'll say I was interested until the peaches bit, but I guess we can't always be right! 🤷‍♂️

This is why we can’t let up just yet.

I don't think anyone can let up, but if many people are exhausted or tired of talking about COVID I'm just making an argument that it's not necessary to keep pushing, especially if it comes as a detriment to your own health.

I get it. I am sick of it too, definitely not good for our health at this point. The anxiety is just horrible. The loss is unbearable (Moderna killed my mom, in my opinion). I’d love to “drop out” and forget it all ever happened.

That's right, apologies Aimee I forgot it was you who told me that story. It's a heavy weight to carry but also keep in mind that your personal health is important as well. I don't think anyone wants people to just drop it, but to take your health into account as well. There's no good to worry if it may lead to worse health outcomes. Just something to keep in mind.

All the best to you Aimee!

No worries! You are right, of course. I’m definitely feeling the weight of it all. 😢

Thank you.

Yes... but my health is already damaged, as I still have an erratic pulse and chest pains a year after my first and only dose. Hard to ignore that?

I'm sorry that happened to you Bigs. But I also didn't state that's something to just ignore. I am stating that people need to understand that being in a constant state of worry is also not good as well. This doesn't mean people just move on but it means that people need to be aware of whether the constant anxiety and stress is fruitful or if it's detrimental.

I do hope that we get more information about these vaccines. There's plenty of other people looking into these and hopefully the collective endeavors will lead to something eventually.

All the best to you Bigs and hopefully your symptoms can resolve.

Yeah, we are swimming in bullshit but we're still far away from the shore...

Personally, I started pulling back in December. I get more info by checking in infrequently and taking more time to discern what I am reading/hearing. My adrenal glands are much happier. I look forward to your next post.

Thanks Teresa. I've broken this post into two (now 3) posts. I am going to keep in mind that I should make these posts shorter. I still have a few COVID ones I would like to cover but I will also cover other pharmaceutical topics as well so be on the lookout for those!

I have felt the anxiety that the constant bombardment of “things that could go wrong” especially when my daughter was very young. News of unfortunate events are easy to come by and suddenly I had many things to worry about that I hadn’t been prepared to worry about (SIDS, drowning, brain-eating amoebas, electric shock drowning - we frequent lakes a lot and it seems FB algorithms know that so here’s heart wrenching stories of things that went bad at the lake). I found myself caught up emotionally in many of these stories. In fact there was a local first grader who drowned on vacation at a nearby lake which kinda escalated my worries at bringing my 4 year old to the lake in a few weeks (needless to say we have all survived our many lake vacations).

I feel like that was a primer for Covid. I knew better than to let the media make me disbelieve what I saw with my own eyes. It’s okay to understand the danger, but it is not okay to persuade fear to be the main driving force of your life. I look forward to reading more of your suggestions!

I support you taking a break from writing about covid. I have gotten a lot from your substacks, they have been a great support during this stressful time in my life. 💜
