As in me being a doc? I hope I'm clear that I'm not actually an MD and it's just an abbreviation, and now I'm trying to remember if it was you or someone else I posted this video for hahaha

I'll take a look at that video and see what gets discussed. I'd be curious of how many points get hit on the actual science regarding GLP-1 RAs.

Ill find a way to read that article by the Atlantic, thank you for the tip. I stopped reading them after finding their stories too charged. I yearn for a liberal rag that is consistently dry, meaning zero drama, I dont mind a point of view. Just want it sans drama. Unfortunately news sources including video and audio based media- pump this pessimistic world view message. For years I've encouraged my patients keep abreast of news as they wish, but pay attention to the amount of information versus drama (fear, anger, threat level, graphics) they are getting. There IS a way to be informed without ones spirit being dragged through hell. my 2 cents.

It is annoying how often some sort of messaging or moral grandstanding has to appear. Something similar but somewhat tangential was the fact that nearly any book post-Trump that involved cultural issues seemed to have to tack on Charlottesville for some reason, even if it didn't seem appropriate to the context. This weirdly happened a lot within the media sphere where outlets would just randomly refer to Gamergate as a hate campaign to remind readers about the rampant "-isms" that go on within their hobby. It's very rate to actually read an article that may show a bit of bias but nonetheless provides information in a rather objective manner. Even my recent article on Hydroxychloroquine included some outlets who made it out that Trump somehow was involved in killing people by touting the benefits of HCQ.

A lot of media now wants people to feel bad or angry because that's one way to keep people engaged and throwing money. It really is a slimy tactic but it's also upsetting how many people can't understand that "their side" is rampant with this sort of approach.

My sister-in-law, an internist, admitted that she doesn't advise patients to lose weight because they'll just find another dr and she'll lose money. Crazy but true!

Oh wow, so is it from the belief that she can prescribe them many medications for weight or is it that the mere mention of weight will lead people to go seek other, more "affirming" doctors? It's really weird how many people within the fat activist movement want to discuss everything but their weight, as if that somehow doesn't play a role in health.

She said that before the Ozempic craze started. Her point was that people don't want to be told they should lose weight to improve their health.
