I Put the kibbosh on turkey ten years ago. This year I'm making duck tacos with cranberry sauce, with duck a friend raises, garden greens, a local fruit pie, and someone bringing a cheese cake, which is not a functional food, but good for the soul, eh?. Love making new "traditions"
I hope all of that went well Paul! Duck tacos actually sounds great! And yes to new traditions, it's always nice to have some new dishes to make. The past two Thanksgivings I've made collard greens. I actually found a recipe to make them in a slow cooker and that turned out well!
I had comments this year that my cranberry sauce was too tart. I guess using half of the recommended sugar would do that, but I think it can be a good contrast to the other muddled, carb-heavy dishes. I'm strangely a bigger fan of ham and cranberry sauce than turkey, and probably because of the saltiness of ham.

I'm stuffed already, just from reading all that! Simple meal here, one guest, on Saturday instead of Thursday. Cranberries likely.
I hope the time with the guest went well ClearMiddle! It's nice to still have someone to share time with!
You left out a word. Sugar may (negate? obliviate? decimate? destroy?) the benefits of cranberries.
I appear to do this often. I say all of the above? 🤷♂️
Delightful! I always make my own cranberry sauce. It is never the same.
