I was always skeptical of drugs that affect dementia and cognition. But I had a patient with severe Alzheimer's and I forget what drug she took but it made a significant difference.

I'm generally critical of these drugs because they don't appear to provide the high degree of improvement that Biogen argues. The evidence is so muddy, and as questions arise about the actual role of these proteins in Alzheimer's the idea that targeting these proteins alone will slow down disease progression and even improve cognition raises serious red flags.

If we had far more data, especially with respect to long-term safety given how these immunotherapies are expected to be used, then more weight can be added to the use of these therapies. Just as of now there seems to be a serious lack of evidence.

Yeah, that's what I experienced most of the time too - no significant change, except for the one patient.
