May I ask you, what exactly is wrong with your furnace. Some things can be fixed easily. For example, if it goes through the ignition cycle but shuts off, that's usually easily fixable.
I won't divulge too much, but I have family members that work in HVAC that took a look and believe one part is damaged. It's a consequence of cost of repair being similar to cost of replacement at this point but we have it figured out now!
But I am becoming in-tuned with my cold side! I'm actually going to wonder if I will get used to a colder house.
I watched his lecture many years ago and I found him so fascinating. He talks rather quickly and jumps from one idea to the next quickly and so I would need to watch him a few times. I'm just returning back to his lectures after trying to search for something and I found this video in general so appropriate to how we should be viewing science.
Ah, getting in touch with the cold side! Sweaters, socks, caps, shawls, comforter. I do that here in Hawaii this time of year when it's only a high of 77 and windy.
As long as my cold side doesn't take over! I have become a bit used to it, so I wonder how I would fare in warmer temperatures. I find that I'm more sensitive to heat than the cold as well. Wow, 77 and windy actually sounds like great weather!

Thank you for sharing! Sapolsky is everything you would expect, and more, live!
I do enjoy his lectures. I've meant to read his books but never got around to it. I may try to some time in the near future!
I love his books! Thanks bringing him to folks attention. When I read his words, I hear his voice and cadence.
And yes, get that furnace fixed.
