I also like the title, Modern Discontent.

Thank you, I was somewhat inspired by one of the old episodes of Family Guy honestly! But I think the phrase fits for what we are doing.

Your substack was the first I subscribed to and paid for. I liked the depth of what you said and, obviously, how much time you took to research and write it. I was initially like you when the vaccine came out. Even though I am pretty much an anti-vaxxer, I wanted to do the right thing and support the movement to end the pandemic. After all, what could go wrong? Lots. After my first jab I had a severe reaction, some of the effects still continue. After a year of research I feel as if I have a PhD in how to treat Covid in the early stages and the adverse effects of the vaccine.

Thank you, that means quite a lot to hear that I was the first!

I'll be frank and say that I don't even know what an anti-vaxxer is. I'm hesitant to immediately assert some of the conclusions by vaccine skeptics such as "vaccines cause autism", but I certainly have not looked into the idea deeply enough. But now, as someone who always got the annual flu vaccine the whole push for massive vaccination has made me even question that. I think a lot of people feel the same as well, so now we are blurring the lines of what it means to be skeptical of vaccines. I really don't know what it means when those of us who are skeptical of these COVID vaccines all of a sudden become anti-vaxx because it suits the narrative!

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. I think it's one of the most disgusting things to hear about how many people were adversely affected by the vaccines, and yet we are pretending that it's either rare or that those people just happen to be the "unlucky ones". I wish you will and that your symptoms go away. It sounds awful having to deal with that!
