Apologies for appearing MIA the past few days.
One serious backlog that I have just gotten to is towards organizing the studies I’ve looked at.
Originally I would wait until a post is done to download related articles and sort them away in a folder dedicated to the date I posted my article. I usually did this when I would write up my posts in a Word document and then move it over onto Substack, although that ended up taking several hours to do. However, as soon as I started writing my posts directly into Substack I stopped organizing my articles, and one thing led to another and you realize there are up to 20 windows with 50-70 papers that need to be organized (did you know Brave only allows up to 75 tabs per window? I figured that out….). 😅
This ended up taking A LOT longer than I thought it would, and I’m not done yet…
But along with that I’ve tried adding additional sections, as well as some organizing some of my past series into “Anthology Series” posts so that they are easier to access.
With respect to Anthology Series these are the topics that I’ve made posts on so far:
This was a work-in-progress that was shelved for the time being. This series looks at some ways of managing hypertension outside of just pharmaceutical interventions. Keep in mind that this series is intended to be informative and not prescriptive i.e. it should not serve as medical advice.
The Gut Microbe and SARS-COV-2
This was originally intended to serve as a series that dove into the dynamics between a viral infection the gut microbiome. The series eventually looked into the dynamics between a SARS-COV-2 infection and gut dysbiosis, including how this process may be involved with the presentation of ARDS in some COVID patients.
Initially started in order to contextualize a case report of a man with Parkinson’s disease who died weeks after receiving a COVID booster, this series looks more closely into the effects of viral infection on the presentation of parkinsonism, and whether there may be some concerns related to the vaccines and future rates of parkinsonism.
This ongoing series catalogues information coming out with respect to the East Palestine derailment, including soil and water sample results as well as toxicology information on various compounds in question.
If there are any posts which seem to require corralling please let me know and I’ll organize them into an AS.
I’ve also created more Sections to help organize older posts so that they are easier to access.
So far these are the Sections that I have added:
COVID- Anything related to COVID has been separated into 3 separate sections, with each one serving a separate purpose.
COVID-19: This is a broad, general Section focused on virological/molecular aspects of SARS-COV2, including different variants as well as anything related to pathology.
C-19 Vaccines: Any information with respect to the vaccines, including adverse reactions, will be collected under this Section.
C-19 Therapeutics: Treatments for COVID, including pharmaceuticals and supplements, will be covered in this Section. This includes information on monoclonal antibodies, PAXLOVID, Molnupiravir, and other therapeutics.
Pharma- Anything drug-related will be placed into this Section. This includes information on drugs such as Ozempic, immunotherapy for Alzheimer’s, and any other pharmaceuticals that are covered.
Health- This is intended to be a Section for posts focused on overall health and wellness. This includes posts looking at certain diseases in particular, as well as methods of maintaining health.
Seasonal- For those who want more levity, these posts generally involve topics based on the current season. Past posts include snow crystal formation, the science behind leaves changing color, as well as the compounds that make up the smell of Christmas.
So far I’ve only moved a few articles over into different Sections just in case Substack decided to spam everyone about this ongoing shuffling. Please let me know if you’ve been alerted to all of the posts moving into different Sections.
This is also a working list of different Sections. I’m thinking of having a cultural one related to politics and other current issues at some point. If there’s any other sections you think would be worth including please let me know.
That’s it for now… I think. The shuffling into sections will be an ongoing process so be on the lookout.
Also, thank you for all of the continued support! A lot of this work would not be possible if not for the help and support of subscribers. Note that a lot of this work is the work of one individual so it requires a lot of time and effort to source and research for different posts.
If there are any questions, including random questions about how I look for articles or do my own research please feel free to ask!
Also, happy belated Easter! I hope everyone is enjoying the spring air!
Substack is my main source of income and all support helps to support me in my daily life. If you enjoyed this post and other works please consider supporting me through a paid Substack subscription or through my Ko-fi. Any bit helps, and it encourages independent creators and journalists such as myself to provide work outside of the mainstream narrative.
