Has the CDC Admitted to PCR Test Sensitivity?
Today, CDC Director Dr. Walensky just stated PCR tests may stay positive for up to 12 weeks, well after people have commented on the test's high sensitivity.
I usually try to stay away from short posts, but as someone who used to conduct SARS-COV2 rt-PCR testing I became very aware of how sensitive theses tests were.
I have written about my experiences at least twice, which you all can find below.
So I became quite frustrated when today Dr. Walensky, in an attempt to justify sudden changes in isolation guidelines, mentioned that PCR tests may stay positive up to 12 WEEKS! Yes, nearly 3 months of positive PCR tests!
For those who would like to watch the video I have linked it below.
As someone who used to work in a lab for PCR testing I was well aware of how easy it was to make tests positive. In fact, it was an extremely high point of contention. One of the labs we gained training samples from talked about how easy it was for cross contamination to occur. Even for our purposes, we diluted many samples which still came up positive several weeks after sample collection!
So for me all of this was not a surprise. What’s surprising is that it took nearly two years for the CDC to even comment on the sensitivity of these tests!
That’s nearly two years of constant isolations, lockdowns, loneliness, job loss, destroyed economy, and more all because media outlets such as CNN needed a case ticker to instill fear into the populace!
Note that Dr. Walensky is likely referring to those who are symptomatic and test positive on a PCR test. In that case, it makes sense why they will continue to test positive for several weeks considering that they are engaging in viral shedding. However, she doesn’t cite any studies, so I’m not sure where this 12-week number came from. We should be well-aware by now that the CDC hasn’t been completely transparent of where they get their numbers from.
Regardless, my own personal experience has found that even the slightest bit of viral load will return a positive result. In all regards, these tests seemed far too sensitive for what we were using them for, especially as a measure to dictate the behaviors and public health policies we have all been forced to live under for all of this time!
It’s a shame that the news anchor didn’t question that point, but I’ve lamented the fact that most of these anchors, even after having reported on COVID for nearly two years, really seem completely oblivious to any of the information.
Part of me wonders if the COVID narrative may be crumbling, but part of me also wonders what will be made of those who sounded the alarms early of all of the madness that has been going on.
As of now Dr. Malone has been banned from Twitter, a day before his appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
At a time where those who spoke out against the narrative continue to be silenced, while those who have held up the narrative for nearly two years are now beginning to see it crumble, I wonder what will happen within the next few months.
But for now, all I can say is that many people are beginning to state the obvious, and it’s an obvious point many have made, and will continue to make even if it means they risk being silenced.
Are there not multiple lab protocols - meaning one lab may use 1 or 2 genes or use different CT?
