If someone were to stoke fear into the masses, one would suggest targeting people at their most sensitive areas. We all have our own vulnerabilities. If we watch something that touches us in just the right spot we can be sure these people have tapped into a reservoir of emotions and cause us to act impulsively or irrationally. It’s why infomercials and the mainstream media work so strongly to present information in a clickbait, exaggerated manner.
When a disease comes around that presents with a ton of symptoms, we may be concerned about succumbing to the more obvious signs such as damage to many of our organs. However, we never really think about some more “strange” symptoms.
Scouring the comment section of many YouTube videos I came across a few comments from women who had COVID and started to experience hair loss. Even as a man who was not blessed with the most gracious of hair genes, I am fully aware of the sensitive nature of discussing hair loss, especially for women. Not many men have quite the same concerns over hair loss. If one were to choose between long-term lung damage or losing their hair I’m sure many would choose the former over the latter. However, that doesn’t mean that people would willingly choose to lose their hair. It’s one of the first things that people are presented with when meeting strangers or going out in public, so we can see why there many be many concerns over hair loss after COVID.
But one thing I never thought I would come across were posts about men becoming impotent after COVID. Usually any talk about men’s genitalia are presented in some comedic fashion. There really is no way of getting away from that (please pardon anything that may be considered a pun in this post!) in these discussions. However, you can be sure that the media will take advantage of such a sensitive topic for their own narratives.
