A recent New York Times piece has suggested that Dr. Science himself may be stepping down from his role at the NIH some time by the end of the year.
We all have many problems with Dr. Fauci, and this article is just one of a slew of articles that just can’t help but pat the good doc on the back- I’m keeping this PG, but you all know what you’d want to say.
A few interesting points raised include:
Fauci leaving office in case Republicans win back the Congress- a point rebutted by the author and Fauci.
He has been working on a memoir and is finding a publisher. I’m sure there will be no ret-conning going on in that memoir.
Additional praises for his work during the HIV/AIDS crisis, although he apparently suffers from post-traumatic stress syndrome from the crisis.
He would like to encourage young people to get into government offices. Make of that what you will.
It’s not a long piece compared to other ones out there, but it just goes to show that Dr. Fauci can do no wrong in the eyes of his followers. It’s essentially the story of a man who hung around in a government position for far too long and having far too much power slowly fading into the sunset.
I encourage people to read the article, and I suppose for the time being we will be left to speculate on what is to come of Fauci in the future.
As an aside, I will hope to release a few Anthology Series today as I’ve fallen behind on actually doing that. I’m not sure if I will make my sleep and exercise posts into their own series posts are move them under the Mini Lessons tab. I will also make one for NAC that will go under the Anthology Series post, as well as one for the “getting off of the dang internet!” series since I don’t believe I compiled them together. Maybe I’ll keep that as a title.
In recent weeks I’ve started to reduce the amount of work I’ve put into this Substack on the weekends to give myself some time so that I don’t burn out. Because of this some of my posts this week may either be limited or may be fewer in number, so this is a heads up.
Edit: Including share and subscribe buttons because I forgot.
Does PTSD count if it is self-inflicted? As one who suffered with fairly serious non self-inflicted PTSD I am angered by this strategy. Good strategy to keep from burning out. I just did a week staycation, I feel regenerated.
Well I guess that's why I felt it to be rather distasteful for the fact that it kind of spits in the face of all of the people who died from AIDS while Fauci was in office. Many people cite him as a highly controversial figure and one who banned many drugs from being repurposed, told outright lies as to how HIV spread, and spent a large portion of the time looking for a vaccine that didn't bear any fruit. And so such a remark really just overlooks many of his faults and kind of paints him in a sympathetic light when his record would speak otherwise.

Yup. He should have been run out of town on a rail for incompetence or malfeasance 30 years ago.
I understand. Thank you. It is reprehensible that he can use this concept though.
